SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan aims to provide useful and relevant elementary education for all children in the 6 to 14 years age group by 2010. There is also another goal to bridge social and gender gaps, with the active participation of the community in the management of schools.

  IMPLEMENTATION OF PNDT ACT- IN HYDERABAD DISTRICT

Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh consists of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and is a bustling 400-year-old metropolis with an urban population of 6 million people approximately. Hyderabad is famous as the former seat of the fabulously wealthy Nizams of Hyderabad. Built on the banks of the river Musi, and surrounded by huge prehistoric rock formations like petrified, gray elephants, Hyderabad is a blend of the fairy tale and earthy, a pot pourri of old and new.

  SOUTH CENTRAL RAILWAY INSTITUTE, Moula-ali

The 1st General Body Meet of the South Central Railway Institute, Moula-ali held on 24.3.2006 at Hyderabad resolves to place on record the efforts made by Smt. Vandana Singal, DRM/HYB in successful implementation of Waste to Wealth Management system under Bio-degradable waste, duly motivating the women residing in Railway colony, Moula-ali. The implementation of this scheme has been appreciated by one and all and the August Body appeals to the residents of Moula-ali Railway colony to continue the same duly motivating others to follow the system.

  ANDHRA PRADESH STATE AIDS CONTROL SOCIETY (APSACS)

Activities taken up on HIV/AIDS, prevention and control have yielded results with increase in the number of HIV testing Centers like 4 Mobile Integrated Counseling & Testing Centers, awareness activities through mass media viz., press, television & radio; starting STD clinics under Public Private Partnership, care and support centers, and Anti Retro Viral Therapy treatment centers in the state to provided enhanced access to HIV prevention and control services. As a result, it is now estimated that, the HIV prevalence has come down from 2% in 2004 to 0.88% in now.
